During my time at Akimbo.tv we were approach by Weimar Pictures to create the branding and motion language for TikTok's inaugural New Years Eve show.
This social broadcast was one of firsts, highlighting all the memorable moments from TikTok in 2020. Featuring stars Brittany Broski and Lil Yachty we knew it had to be quirky.
TikTok didn't have an established brand or motion guide, so our team at Akimbo explored and created a motion language that fit TikTok's ethos yet pushed it creatively.
With a social-first approach, we built most assets within a 9x16 frame. This created some unique constraints such as how to showcase text and images consistently within a tight horizontal spacing.
