Skill Fund was a one-off 90 day program that helped local Tulsan high school graduates learn a remote-friendly creative skill. I donated $10,000, built a curriculum, made introductions, and mentored a handful of promising young creatives.
Alongside learning a myriad of new creative skills including, copywriting, motion design, illustration, photography, and graphic design. Our participants also learned valuable soft skills through our curriculum and mentorship from experts who were actively working on global brands.
Although our program was only 90 days long, three of our participants not only learned a new skill but, also generated a total of $1,500 from freelance projects.
The Skill Fund program received over 1,000,000 local impressions across Oklahoma. Landing features in Business Insider, Tulsa World, News on 6, KTUL, KJRH, and a few podcasts.
